Loan Operations Specialist – Jackson, Mississippi

Location: Jackson, Mississippi

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Maintaining and updating loan data in the loan system, ensuring accuracy and integrity. 
  • Reporting: Preparing and reviewing daily loan operations reports.
  • Daily Operations Processing: Posting and balancing participation loan advances and payments, both sold and purchased. Daily processing of paid out loan files.
  • Documentation Management: Handling loan documentation, including creating, reviewing, and maintaining loan files.
  • Loan Operations Support: Assisting with various operational tasks, such as booking loans, processing payoffs, and error corrections.
  • Customer Service: Responding to inquiries and providing support related to loan operations. 
  • Quality Control: Performing quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
  • Compliance: Adhering to bank policies, procedures, and lending regulations. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of loan processing procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and loan management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in loan processing or loan servicing. 
  • Execute duties as assigned and additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and telephone skills, enabling the individual to represent oneself in a positive, courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied duties in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
  • Ability to research and correct loan inaccuracies.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of the services and products offered by the bank.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use basic office equipment.
